On July 19, The Inter-American Dialogue’s Weekly Energy Advisor highlighted the recent changes in Petrobras’ leadership. Magda Chambriard, the company’s CEO, announced the appointment of new executives to strengthen the leadership team: Fernando Melgarejo as CFO, Renata Baruzzi as Chief of Engineering, Technology, and Innovation, and Sylvia dos Anjos leading Exploration and Production.

The new management needs to balance corporate and shareholder interests with the government’s perspectives on energy transition and offshore exploration.
