Mining, Civil and Commercial Law

He has been working as a lawyer in the areas of Mining, Civil and Commercial Law, since 1977. During this time he has acquired valuable experience and specific knowledge on all related aspects, direct and indirect, with the Brazilian mining activity, which helped him to develop special methods and practices in the treatment of problems related to this sector of the national economy, such as: monitoring the mining judicial procedures (“Mining Law”) and administrative procedures (“Special Law “) before the National Mining Agency (“ANM”) and the Ministry of Mines and Energy (“MME”); preparation of a legal report for verification of requirements (“Due Diligence”) of Mining Law and Administrative/ Special Law before all ANM Regional Offices and the MME bodies; preparation of many types of contracts involving the various activities related to mining; advice on legal aspects of mining related to Urban, Real Estate and (or) Land Law; administrative litigation before ANM and MME in relation to Mining and Special Law, the latter in particular the Financial Compensation for Mineral Exploration (“CFEM”); participation in legal actions and measures before Courts, in cooperation with local lawyers, in matters related to legal litigation in Mining, Civil and Land Law; legal guidance on registration of companies and activities in the Brazilian borders; participation in negotiations with landowners, trespassers, prospectors, non-governmental organizations and/or public agents, which allow the installation and maintenance of mining projects in Brazil; preparation of legal opinion and response to consultations related to matters involving Brazilian Mining Law and other related topics; constant monitoring of decisions published in the Federal Official Gazette related to the processes before ANM and/or MME, among others.

Author of the book “Comments on the Mining Code”, published by Forense, in 1983. Also, author of several legal articles published in magazines and periodicals related to Brazilian mining.
